A Prestigious Event

The Presidents Cup is a biennial men's golf competition featuring 12-member teams from the United States and an International team representing the rest of the world, excluding Europe.

The tournament was established in 1994 to honor past U.S. Presidents and is jointly administered by the PGA TOUR and the PGA of America.

History and Format

The Presidents Cup alternates between host courses in the United States and abroad.

The format consists of four rounds of match play: four-ball (best ball), foursomes (alternate shot), four-ball again, and singles.

Team Selection

The U.S. team is captained by the PGA of America President, while the International team is captained by an experienced player selected by the PGA TOUR.

Players qualify for the teams based on their performance on the PGA TOUR and the Official World Golf Ranking.

Recent History

In 2022, the U.S. team defeated the International team 17.5 to 12.5 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The most recent victory for the International team was in 2019 at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia.
